What is On the Front Foot?

On the Front Foot supports the innovation, creativity, and leadership growth of Future Female Cricket Leaders in Ireland. In partnership with Carrie on Developing, the programme blends action learning with cross-region connection, offering a safe space to share experiences and challenges. Participants receive tailored professional development, including access to coaching mentors and experts from sport and beyond.

On the Front Foot 2026/27

On the Front Foot is a transformative leadership programme empowering women across Irish cricket. Through mentoring, workshops, and a supportive national network, participants build confidence, leadership skills, and connections to make an impact on and off the field.

On the Front Foot 26/27: programme overview and commitment. 1. Online sessions: six 90-minute online forums and workshops, four to six weeks apart between September and March. 2. Two Saturday in-person sessions: one in October and a final graduation session in March with a celebration dinner. 3. Mentors: each participant is assigned an experienced mentor; ongoing communication with mentors is integral. 4. Reflective journals: participants complete and submit four reflective journals over the duration. 5. Online platform: access to additional leadership resources and activities.

On the Front Foot 26/27: themes for workshops and forums. 1. Exploring Leadership. 2. Knowing me. 3. Knowing You. 4. Values Led Leadership. 5. The Listening Leader. 6. Connecting and Challenging. Sinead Tarbox, Malahide Cricket Club, says: The On the Front Foot programme has helped me learn how to be a leader, and also, it’s taught me an awful lot about myself. I found it quite empowering.
