Circket Ireland's Disciplinary Regulations set out the rules that govern behaviours and standards across the Irish game.

Discipline in the irish game

The Cricket Ireland Disciplinary Committee meets periodically to hear alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct and Playing Regulations across international fixtures, inter-provincial fixtures, Super Series, and all-Ireland cup competitions that are organised and played under the auspices of Cricket Ireland.

The Disciplinary Committee enforces the rules and regulations set out in the Cricket Ireland Disciplinary Regulations.

2023 Decisions

Derriaghy Cricket Club
  • Incident date: 13 August 2023
  • Charge: Failing adequately to control its supporters’ behaviour.
  • Decision: The Club is required to play away from home, the next match in the Irish Senior Cup or Irish National Cup in which it is initially drawn to play at home.

Tyrone Kane
  • Incident date: 15 August 2023
  • Charge: Dissent at umpires decision.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.

Luke Allen
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Showing serious dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.
  • Decision: Suspended for the next three matches in the Irish Senior Cup, Irish National Cup or Ulster Cup/Plate for which he is available for selection.

Nathan McGuire
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Showing serious dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.
  • Decision: Suspended for the next two matches in the Irish Senior Cup, Irish National Cup or Ulster Cup/Plate for which he is available for selection.

Neil Gill
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Showing serious dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.
  • Decision: Suspended for the next three matches in the Irish Senior Cup or Irish National Cup for which he is available for selection.

Muckamore CC
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Failure of the club or its officials to manage criticism or comments made on any of the websites and/or social media accounts which are under the club’s control.
  • Decision: Next match in the Irish Senior Cup or National Cup to be played away.

Alex Neary
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.
  • Decision: A one-match ban from the next match (2024) in this competition (National Cup), for which he is selected.

Satish Suresh
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Advancing towards an umpire in an aggressive manner while appealing.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.

Kyllin Vardhan
  • Incident date: 9 July 2023
  • Charge: Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action. Using language that, in the circumstances, is obscene, offensive or insulting.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.

Glen Adams
  • Incident date: 18 June 2023
  • Charge: Showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision by word or action.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.

Harry Tector
  • Incident date: 30 May 2023
  • Charge: Wilfully mistreating any part of the cricket ground, equipment or implements used in the match.
  • Decision: Player should be suspended for the next two Inter-Provincial, Irish Cup or National Cup fixtures for which he is available for selection.

Ross Hunter
  • Incident date: 20 May 2023
  • Charge: Showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.

Riley Mudford
  • Incident date: 20 May 2023
  • Charge: Any other conduct, the nature of which is, in the opinion of the umpires, equivalent to a Level 1 offence.
  • Decision: Reprimand and formal warning.
