MALAHIDE – The Scorchers won two out of two in this double-header, but the Dragons claimed the 2024 title.

First up, Typhoons won the toss and elected to bat. They posted 113 for 8 from their 20 overs with some very effective Scorchers bowling holding back the rate of scoring.

Scorchers marched to the total imperiously until Clare Webber was bowled by Freya Sargent. However they still reached it with seven balls to spare, for the loss of just four wickets.

Onto the second match where Dragons won the toss and opted to bat first. Initially they looked set for 150 plus but excellent death bowling from the Scorchers kept them to 138 for 4.

After a probing opening spell from Orla Prendergast, Scorchers found this chase much trickier with 91 needed from 60 balls.

However due to an explosive late knock of 66 from 46 by Leah Paul they won by six wickets in a dramatic finish.

Scorchers ended up successfully chasing down two in two, but the Dragons walked away with the Evoke Super 20 Trophy for 2024.
