DLS had to intervene with the end in sight as Phoenix defeated Railway Union. Levon Shields struck 143 from 138 balls and Tyrone Kane hit 76 from 51 balls as Phoenix made 385-9 fom 50 overs. Amish Sidhu then got to work with the ball claiming three early wickets (3-32 from 10 overs) to de-rail Railway's response.
DLS also decided that Malahide defeated rivals Clontarf in a rain-shortened affair - Mike Frost grabbed an economical 3-32from 10 overs as Clontarf was left 175-9 after 50 overs, before Malahide (despite losing two wickets to David Delany) kept ahead of the DLS par score when rain ended proceedings.
