BELFAST – Ireland Under-19s Women will take on Jersey Women’s senior side in two T20s on Sunday 23 June 2024 marking the start of the match practice phase of preparations ahead of the 2025 ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup in Malaysia.

The matches follow a busy schedule of winter and spring of training for the extended squad, overseen by Women’s Performance and Pathway Coach, Glenn Querl.

Freya Sargent and Lara McBride will be given the opportunity to captain one match each.

Head Coach Glenn Querl said:

“These matches mark the beginning of an exciting summer of cricket for the Under-19s that begin with these fixtures, then we have the national schools’ games in the UK, and an overseas trip in October. The ultimate goal is to prepare for the U19s World Cup in Malaysia at the start of the new year.”

“With eight out of the 14 players having prior experience from the previous competition in South Africa in 2023, the team consists of a good mix of experienced and new players.”
