Malahide Cricket Club
The Ground

Malahide Cricket Club is located within the spectacular grounds of the historic Malahide Castle. The ground has become the de facto home of Irish cricket.

A little history

Malahide held its first international match in 2013, when Ireland Men hosted England in a One-Day International in front of a full-house of 10,000 people.. Former Ireland international Eoin Morgan, who was England captain, scored a century as they won by 6 wickets.

Malahide has also hosted Men’s ODIs against Scotland, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, West Indies, and South Africa, and T20Is against Hong Kong, Netherlands, India, Scotland, and South Africa, whilst the ground has also played host to numerous Women’s Internationals – New Zealand, West Indies and South Africa in ODIs, and Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Netherlands in T20Is.

Following Ireland’s ascendancy to Test status in 2017, Malahide hosted Ireland’s first ever Men’s Test match in May 2018, as Ireland played Pakistan. Kevin O’Brien scored Ireland’s first Test century in the second innings of the game, before Pakistan eventually won by 5 wickets.
