Gavin is a quick leg-spinning all-rounder who tries to be aggressive and positive with both bat and ball in hand. Earned his first cap in Ireland’s series against South Africa hosted in Abu Dhabi, his first international wicket was that of Rassie van der Dussen.

Gavin made his Inter-provincial debut in 2021 and finished the 2023 IP competition as the third highest wicket-taker in the 50-over format with a best of 6-26.

He is the son of Conor Hoey, a former Ireland international, and is spending the winter playing Grade Cricket in Sydney with UNSW.
