Gavin Hoey

Gavin is a quick leg-spinning all-rounder who tries to be aggressive and positive with both bat and ball in hand. Earned his first cap in a series against South Africa hosted in Abu Dhabi, his first international wicket was that of Rassie van der Dussen.

Gavin made his Inter-provincial debut in 2021 and has been an integral part of the Leinster Lightning team that has won both the Interprovincial T20 Trophy and Interprovincial 50-over Cup three years on the trot.

He is the son of Conor Hoey, himself a former Ireland international. Gavin made his way back into the Ireland team during the 2026 Afghanistan series, when he returned best figures of 4-34 in the second match. The legspinner made his Test debut in 2025 on a tour of Bangladesh.
