The men’s Inter-Provincial Series kicks off on 2 June with the first round of the Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy – this encounter will see the defending champions, Leinster Lightning, travel to Bready to take on the North West Warriors.
The Inter-Provincial Series is Ireland’s premier men’s domestic representative cricket series. In 2026, it will be played between Leinster Lightning, Northern Knights and North West Warriors.
The Series features two separate white-ball competitions: Inter-Provincial Cup (50-overs) and Inter-Provincial Trophy (T20).
This is the 14th edition of the Inter-Provincial Series since its reintroduction in 2013.
Graeme West, Director of High Performance at Cricket Ireland, said:
“A significant amount of work has taken place during the winter months within the Provincial Unions, and I am sure the players and coaches are looking forward to testing themselves in this summer’s Inter-Pro T20 and 50-over formats.
“I am confident that reducing the tournaments to three teams will create greater competition for places, a higher intensity of cricket and produce more pressure situations and critical moments to test and assess the capabilities of our players.
“The senior men’s team’s international schedule has allowed us to strategically schedule the Inter-Pro games to support player preparation for the India T20 Series and the Afghanistan 50-over series.
“With qualifying events for both the Men’s 50-over world cup and the Olympics scheduled for 2027, this summer’s domestic cricket provides the perfect platform for those players wanting to represent Ireland on the global stage to stake their claim.”
