The Spinny Cup Ireland v India Men's T20I Series 2026

The India Men’s cricket team returns to Ireland three years after their last visit and will play two T20 Internationals against Ireland Men at Stormont in Belfast on 26 and 28 June 2026.

The two sides have met on eight occasions previously in T20 Internationals, with India winning all eight – the last encounter being at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in New York. The teams last played at Stormont in 2007 – an ODI which India won by 9 wickets.

The Irish squad is missing up to five frontline players – Mark Adair, Josh Little, Barry McCarthy, Jordan Neill and Paul Stirlnig – due to injury and have called up two uncapped players for the first time – Matthew Hollard and Jai Moondra.

Lorcan Tucker has this week been named the new permanent captain of the Ireland Men’s T20I squad and he will face an India Men’s said which also has a new captain, Shreyas Iyer.

India Men have brought out a strong T20 squad, which includes the as-yet uncapped 15-year old batting sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

THE RECENT RECORDS

  • The Ireland Men’s T20I squad is currently ranked 12th in the ICC Men’s T20 Team Rankings list – the team has played nine T20Is in 2026, winning five and losing four. The Men in Green were last in T20I action in February at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka and India.
  • The India Men’s T20I squad is currently ranked 1st in the ICC Men’s T20 Team Rankings list – the team has played 14 T20Is in 2026, winning 12 and losing two. The Asian side were last in T20I action at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka and India, beating New Zealand in the Final to lift the trophy. However, the national squad may not have played for three months, but the Indian Premier League has been held in the interim between 28 March and 31 May with all the national squad players involved.
