All you need to know…

The Evoke Super 20 Trophy

The women’s Evoke Super 20 Trophy gets underway on 10 May with a double-header at Stormont – here’s what you need to know.

The action on Sunday will feature all available Irish internationals, with Rebecca Stokell filling in as Typhoons captain in the absence of Gaby Lewis who is recovering from injury.

About the competition, Stokell said:

“It’s great to finally get the season underway, to shake off that winter feeling and get back out on grass. The summer ahead is going to be a big one for the senior international side, so that will make the Evoke Super Series all that more important.

“Over the last few years, the competition has become increasingly more competitive, pushing our senior internationals, while also giving a great opportunity for emerging talent to test themselves at the highest domestic level. With just the two teams this year, it looks like a great series, and the Super 20 Trophy will be an important part of Ireland Women’s preparation programme leading into the upcoming international Tri-Series and T20 World Cup.

“While I have enjoyed playing the Evoke Super Series in the past – the 2026 season is the first time I really sense that all the girls can see the role the competition plays in the pathway to higher honours – and I can’t wait to step over the boundary rope on Sunday to get the competition underway.”

THE EVOKE SUPER 20 TROPHY

The Evoke Super Series is Ireland’s premier women’s domestic representative cricket series. In 2026, it will be played between two sides – Dragons and Typhoons. This is the 12th edition of the Evoke Super Series since its launch in 2015.

The Series features two separate white-ball competitions: Evoke Super 50 Cup (50-overs) and Evoke Super 20 Trophy (T20).

NB: The competition will only feature two sides in 2026 given the condensed summer programme being split by the T20 World Cup. The concentration of talent into two teams will create a more competitive series ahead of the World Cup and England series. An increase in Future Series fixtures and initiatives to introduce activities between Under-19 and senior team squads will provide appropriate opportunities for young talent that aligns with the players ability and developmental demands.

HOW THEY FARED LAST YEAR

The Dragons won the Trophy with an unbeaten six-from-six in a competition that featured three teams in 2025. Amy Hunter led the way with the bat, amassing 447 runs at an average of 111.75, with an incredible 151.01 strike rate. She hit five half-centuries in seven innings (94*, 94*, 89, 64, 62), scoring over 100 runs more than the second-placed run-scorer. Alana Dalzell topped the wicket-taking list with 10 wickets at 15.50.

The Typhoons won one-from-six and finished third in 2025. While not having a great competition, the Typhoons’ Laura Delany finished 3rd-highest run-scorer with 313 runs at 104.33.
