Bready – With the predicted rain just about staying away, Emerging Ireland were able to secure a 3-0 50-over series win against West Indies Academy.

For the third time this series West Indies Academy batted first, but this time having won the toss. Similarities continued as Emerging Ireland again made an early breakthrough.

The bowlers continued to take wickets with Liam McCarthy taking a remarkable catch diving to his right just inches about the ground. He would nearly go one better later on the boundary to catch Joshua Bishop.

West Indies Academy batters continued to make starts and enjoyed periods of fluid scoring but the bowlers kept chipping away eventually culminating in a quick finish due to a Gavin Hoey hat-trick.

Emerging Ireland might have expected to be chasing more considering the scoring rate but eventually found themselves in trouble at 92-3.

However thanks to a partnership of 64 between Morgan Topping and S Macbeth they were able to avoid further trouble.

Wickets later in the chase brough West Indies Academy back into the contest but Liam McCarthy and Seamus Lynch were then able to guide Emerging Ireland home.
