BREADY – Rain intervened but there was enough time for Dragons to dominate with the help of Orla Prendergast with bat and ball.

The day began with Dragons winning the toss and electing to bat. They made a watchful start with movement on offer for the bowlers until rain stopped play.

As is so often the case, the first ball after produced a wicket. Scorchers continued getting breakthroughs but couldn’t answer for Prendergast who finished 77 (68).

Alana Dalzell provided effective company with 36 (48) to help Dragons post 212 for 7 from their 44 overs.

Scorchers needed a strong start but soon found themselves 3-2 care of Prendergast who again influenced play.

Captain Leah Paul with Gaby Lewis tried their best to get the chase back on track but couldn’t find the support required.

At the point when rain arrived later on Scorchers were just too far behind the rate which gave Dragons the win.
