A classical off-spinner, Freya is a real student of the game. Learning from every opportunity, she has soaked in the experience of her first year as a member of the Ireland senior squad. Representative of the strength of players coming out of Clontarf Cricket Club, Freya can vary her pace as well as turn the ball with ease. Had a breakthrough season in 2024 when she was key for Ireland in a first series win against Sri Lanka and historic victories over England.

Freya comes from a proud cricketing family and has been immersed in the game her whole life. Her proudest moment in cricket was when she played against England U19s in the 2023 U19 World Cup on her 17th birthday.

Unusual in the women’s game in that she was a spinner from a young age, it’s not surprising that she looks up to England spinner, Sophie Ecclestone. While cricket is her main passion, she also enjoys learning sign language and baking.
