DUBLIN – David Delany and Max Neville have both withdrawn from the Shapoorji Pallonji Cricket Ireland Academy tour overnight, and have been replaced by Rory Anders and James Newland.
Pete Johnston, Academy Manager, said:

“Max Neville has been ruled out with an injury to his foot after failing a fitness test on Wednesday, while David Delany has picked up a viral infection and will not be fit to play. It is unfortunate news for both and we wish them a speedy recovery so that they can be back on the park as soon as possible and into regular competitive cricket. Both these young men have the attributes to bowl fast, so we will look forward to them being fit and ready to take the next opportunity which will allow them to continue to develop on an upward curve.”

“On a positive note, it has allowed us to select two more emerging seamers in Rory Anders and James Newland. Jimmy, who is a left-arm seamer, had a good season for Malahide last year and has impressed at training with Leinster Lightning over the winter. Rory performed well for the Academy last season with bat and ball and will no doubt relish the opportunity to test his skills against strong opposition, Rory attended all our pace camps and has also trained with the Lightning through the winter.”
