OAK HILL, Wicklow – The Dragons top the Evoke Super Series T20 Trophy table after a comprehensive win over the Typhoons in the later match, while the Typhoons accounted for the Scorchers in Game One in Wicklow today.
In Game #1, the Typhoons overcame a late charge by the Scorchers to record an 8-run win, led by Sarah Forbes (51) and Rebecca Stokell (33) as the team in blue registered 145-5 from their 20 overs.
Despite Leah Paul’s eye-catching 71* off 47, the Typhoons bowlers bowled with discipline and held off a late charge by the Scorchers, which saw 40 runs come from the last three overs.

In Game #2, the Typhoons lost the toss and bowled first, with the Dragons compiling 141-4 off 20 overs. Amy Hunter’s commanding 52 (43) gave her side initial hopes of scoring a sizeable total, however, Sarah Forbes’ intervention (3-13) put the brakes on the scoring rate.
Seemingly cruising to victory at the halfway mark in the run-chase, the Typhoons lost 5-50 in the last eight overs to fall 23 runs shy of victory.
