Gareth made his name as a free-hitting opening batter, but has evolved into a hard hitting, leg-spinning all-rounder who can bat either at the top of the order or late on as a power-hitter.

Gareth’s natural attributes mean he is an exciting player to have in the Irish set-up – he has the ability to blast Ireland to a good start with the bat up the top of the order, or pile runs on at the end if he comes in late in the innings. His legspin is ever-improving and adds a string to his bow that makes him a valuable addition.

Gareth is the younger brother of Ireland Women’s former captain, Laura.
