A tall, right-arm inswing bowler, Ava announced herself onto the international scene during a series win against Scotland in 2021 – she took a wicket in her first over with what has now become her signature in-swinging yorker.

After progressing quickly through the underage ranks, Ava found herself opening the bowling at just 17 years of age – but immediately looked at home, and has been a regular member of the senior squad since. Her debut call up to the senior team was made all the more remarkable by the fact that she had suffered a broken ankle just eight months previously.

Her height allows her to get extra bounce, making her challenging to face on almost any surface – and adding prodigious movement in to the right-hander through the air, she’s a real handful.

Ava has also shown herself to be an adept lower-order batter, which is an added dimension to the benefit of the national side.
