Gary Wilson has been called into the squad for Ireland’s ICC Intercontinental Cup match against Afghanistan that starts tomorrow in Dublin
Ireland meet Afghanistan in an ICC Intercontinental Cup match at Rathmines that is scheduled to start tomorrow at 11am.

Ireland currently top the table and the hosts can stretch their advantage with a victory while the third-placed visitors, Afghanistan could move to within three points with a favourable result.

Gary Wilson has been added to the Squad of 14 for the match that starts tomorrow. Ireland go into the match boosted by this and last week’s Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship victory over the same team at Clontarf. Equally, Afghanistan will enter the game in the knowledge the hosts have lost five players from that encounter back to their English county sides – skipper Will Porterfield, George Dockrell, Ed Joyce, Tim Murtagh and Niall O’Brien.

Kevin O’Brien will lead the home team in his place while Merrion all-rounder John Anderson, who is in sparkling form following his unbeaten century that helped lead his club to the semi-finals of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup and teenage Instonians spinner Ben Wylie are included in the senior side for the first time.

Ireland InterContinental Cup squad
Kevin O’Brien (capt) (Somerset), John Anderson (Merrion), Andrew Balbirnie (Pembroke), Alex Cusack (Clontarf), Trent Johnston (YMCA), Rory McCann (Instonians), John Mooney (North County), Paul Stirling (Middlesex), Max Sorensen (The Hills), Stuart Thompson (Limavady), Albert Van der Merwe (YMCA), Gary Wilson (Surrey), Andrew White (Instonians), Ben Wylie (Instonians).
