Cricket Ireland has announced that the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial T20 Trophy match between North West Warriors and Leinster Lightning, originally scheduled for Sunday May 31st at Eglinton CC, will now take place on Friday June 26th at 4.30pm at the same venue.
The movement of the fixture to the new date is required to facilitate a change to the Ireland senior side’s planned preparations ahead of their opening ICC InterContinental Cup match against the UAE, which gets underway on Tuesday June 2nd at Malahide. The ICC InterContinental Cup has been signalled by the ICC as the pathway to Test cricket, with the winner in 2017 challenging the 10th-ranked Full Member for the opportunity to play at Test level.
