Cricket Ireland are seeking Head Coaches for both the Northern Knights and Leinster Lightning Provincial Union sides for the 2017 season.
The 2017 season will be the fifth season of the revamped Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial series and promises to be the most exciting yet.

A decision to award the Championship competition first-class status is currently being examined by the ICC with a final outcome expected in the coming weeks. It is also hoped that the limited overs games in the competition will be afforded List-A status.

Plans to expand the competition are also in the pipeline, with a decision on Munster’s participation in the 2017 T20 format being considered by Cricket Ireland.

“There’s no doubt the competition has been a great success since it was launched in 2013,” said Cricket Ireland Performance Director Richard Holdsworth.

“The aim initially was to provide a best versus best environment for Ireland’s professional contracted players, helping to increase the player pool available to the national team, and to increase the standard of domestic cricket.

“It’s certainly achieved those goals, and we are now looking to enhance the structure and competition, with advanced plans to expand the T20 competition to four teams, and gain first-class status for the 3-day championship.

“We are looking to recruit high-calibre coaches who share our drive and passion for Irish cricket. The roles will prove a key position in the development of future Ireland players as we continue on the path to gaining Test status.”

The Coach must have a minimum ECB Level 3 coaching award (or equivalent from a full member country), or be currently undertaking the course.

The deadline for applications is 4th October and the full job specification is available on the Cricket Ireland website – http://www.cricketireland.ie/about/vacancies
