Star of the Sea completed their first victory in the Leprechaun Cup when beating Castleknock NS by 35 runs at a dry and sunny Park Avenue. The final was the last in a series of games played around Leinster cricket fields over the past eight weeks.

Star of the Sea won by 35 runs.

The Leprechaun Cup continues to be the flagship for cricket development in Leinster with many new schoolchildren now being given the opportunity to play hardball cricket during their primary school years. Running parallel with the Leprechaun Cup this year was the new six team ‘Super League’ with both these competitions already attracting interest from new schools for the 2013 season.

To present the trophy (sponsored by the Leprechauns CC) was Joan Mahony, while also present to witness the game were Dick Forrest, Alan Smith, John West, David Ensor, Michael Brown and Brendan O’Brien along with many parents and teaching staff from both schools.
