Ireland Men set for a history-making year ahead

The Ireland Men’s programme sees a significant increase in activity over the next 12 months – with the potential for more to be added over the coming months.

This home summer in 2026 will see:

Test Match:

  • 27-30 May 2026: Ireland Men v New Zealand Men – Test Match (Stormont, Belfast; starts 11am daily)

Ireland v India T20I series:

  • 26 June 2026: Ireland Men v India Men – 1st T20I (Stormont; starts TBC)
  • 28 June 2026: Ireland Men v India Men – 2nd T20I (Stormont; starts TBC)

Ireland v Afghanistan ODI series:

  • 5 August 2026: Ireland Men v Afghanistan Men – 1st ODI (Bready; starts 10.45am)
  • 7 August 2026: Ireland Men v Afghanistan Men – 2nd ODI (Bready; starts 10.45am)
  • 10 August 2026: Ireland Men v Afghanistan Men – 3rd ODI (Stormont; starts 10.45am)
  • 12 August 2026: Ireland Men v Afghanistan Men – 4th ODI (Stormont; starts 10.45am)
  • 14 August 2026: Ireland Men v Afghanistan Men – 5th ODI (Stormont; starts 10.45am)

Following this, Ireland Men will:

  • travel to Nepal for a white ball series as part of a new 5-year strategic partnership agreement;
  • go to the UAE for warm weather training camp, white ball series against the UAE and Irish players will participate in the ILT20 as part of a 5-year agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board;
  • tour Pakistan for the first time in January for a multi-format series (with the possibility of a 3rd member nation being added to this programme); and
  • take on Afghanistan in a multi-format series in the UAE.

The Ireland Wolves will also head to Zimbabwe for a multi-format tour in October 2026.

Looking further ahead, Cricket Ireland is pleased to confirm a number of other commitments by Full Members in coming years, including:

  • England Men have agreed, in principle, to tour Ireland for three T20Is in 2029 – these matches are ear-marked as potentially the first internationals to be played at our new stadium.
  • Detailed discussions are underway with key stakeholders to create an annual Euro Nations Cup for both Men and Women commencing in the Summer of 2027.
  • Ireland Men’s team are likely to be competing in an ICC ODI World Cup qualifier event and an Olympic qualifier event in 2027.
