The Northern Knights & Leinster Lightning have named their squads for next week’s Newstalk Inter-Provincial Championship clash at College Park.

The Northern Knights will be looking to build on last week’s comprehensive 8 wicket victory over the North West Warriors in the same competition; their squad sees two changes from that win.

CSNI’s Allen Coulter is rested after picking up a shin injury with his place going to club mate and Ireland Under-19 prospect Mark Adair, who could be in line to make his debut at Inter-provincial level. The other change sees Imad Wasim come in to replace Craig Ervine who is unavailable. Philip Eaglestone and Nigel Jones are unavailable due to work commitments.

Meanwhile Cormac McLoughlin of The Hills has earned a first call-up following a great start to the season. The 20-year-old has scored 418 runs to date at an impressive average of 69.67, the highlight being a match-winning 128 against Leinster in the first round of the Leinster Senior Cup.

“I’ve been delighted with Cormac’s form – his selection is a just reward for his hard work over the past few seasons,” Lightning coach coach Trent Johnston said.

The 12-man squad also contains a first call-up this year for YMCA captain and former Ireland international Albert van der Merwe.

Play at College Park gets underway on Tuesday, June 12th, at 11am and admission is free – Live Scoring of the match will be available on www.cricketireland.ie
