The Under 13 Inter-Provincial Series continued today with Munster suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of the North-West and Leinster coming out victorious against the NCU.
Batting first the NCU made 181-9 from their 40 overs (Doak 43; Malone 32; Guest 2-20; Thompson 2-30). Leinster only needed 36 of their overs to reach their target, with Tim Tector making 70 as LCU cruised home to win by five wickets.
Munster were only able to make 103-9 from their 40 overs after being asked to bat by the North-West.
The low score looked like it might be enough for an unlikely victory after an impressive start from the Munster bowlers saw the North-West reduced to 0-2 early in their reply with a wicket each for Isaac Whitaker and Adam Hickey.
Unfortunately for Munster that was as close as they got to the win, with the North-West cruising home without losing another wicket to win by eight wickets with ten overs to spare.
