England and India test awaits this weekend
It won’t just be Ireland’s Men that will be facing the world’s number 1 side this weekend as Ireland’s Women will do the same on Saturday.
Ireland’s women travel to Loughborough in the midlands of England this weekend to face the big challenge of playing the reigning Women’s World Cup champions England. They will also face an English Academy side on the Friday and India’s Women on the Sunday. However all eyes will be on the Irish women on Saturday afternoon as they will try to turn over the world champions on their home soil.

The ECB will be providing video highlights of the matches and it is a golden opportunity to take on two of the world’s best sides for the Irish Women.

Coach Jeremy Bray said on the announcement of the squad, ‘This is the first time this season we’ve nearly had a full squad to choose from and there’s no doubt It will be a good test for us firstly against England Academy and then against the English and Indian women’s senior sides’

‘We haven’t performed in all three disciplines of the game in one match yet and I’m hoping that we can put together good performances against very good opposition which will stand us in good stead for the season ahead with the ICC European World T20 Qualifier being crucial for us this August’

‘The girls have been working very hard at training despite the poor weather and the help from John Wills who has been doing some work on the bowling side with the girls has been fantastic
