IRENE, South Africa – The Ireland Wolves have claimed the five-match T20 series against Namibia 4-1 after two remarkable victories today at the Irene Country Club in South Africa.
Game 4 – T20 Series
In the first match of the day, Wolves captain Harry Tector starred with 91 from 47 balls to lead his side to victory by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare. Chasing Namibia’s competitive total of 182-5, the Wolves lost two early wickets, but a 121-run stand between Tector and Gareth Delany 58* from 42 balls saw the Irish side home with almost two overs to spare.

Game 5 – T20 Series
In the second match of the day, the Namibians batted first again and posted a mountainous 206-5 from 20 overs. An improbable run chase became probable, as the Wolves paced their innings well. At the halfway mark the side still needed 112 from 60 balls, but Curtis Campher (62* from 31 balls) and Neil Rock (58* from 33 balls) saw the Wolves side home in style.
Ireland Wolves will play two 50-over matches against Namibia next week, and finishing their tour with a 50-over match against the Northern Titans Invitation XI.

The Wolves tour
The Ireland Wolves is a second-tier international men’s team that was created in 2017 to bridge the gap between domestic first class and international cricket. The squad has played full-series’ against Bangladesh A (both home and away), toured Sri Lanka in 2019 and recorded two victories over visiting senior sides – Bangladesh and Zimbabwe – in 2019.
