Ireland Under 19’s guaranteed themselves a finishing spot of at least 12th in the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup as they advanced to the semi-finals of the Plate section with a comfortable win over Namibia to set up a showdown with Sri Lanka on Wednesday
.
Ireland’s bowling and fielding continued to excel as they restricted Namibia to 128 for 9 from their 50 overs thanks to the continued excellence of their spinners and a penetrating spell from Graeme McCarter. George Dockrell went at less than a run a ball as he remarkably bowled 10 overs for just 8 runs and Adam Coughlan continued his good tournament with the figures of 1 for 23 from his 10 over allocation.

Ryan Hunter set about the chase in a hurry as he smashed 42 off 37 balls including 2 sixes but the batting frailties that hurt Ireland throughout the tournament nearly cost them again as they lost 6 wickets despite having over half their overs left to bat when Tyrone Kane sealed the win for Ireland by hitting the winning runs.
