Ireland U17 Girls lost out to Scotland by nine wickets in their first T20 encounter in Edinburgh yesterday.
Batting first having lost the toss, Ireland posted 128-7 after Elena Tice (41) and Robyn Lewis (32) got the visitors off to a flying start putting on 41 for the first wicket, but three run-outs stemmed the flow of runs somewhat.

Picking up the other wickets for Scotland were Hannah Rainey (1-9), Abtaha Maqsood (1-13), Kirstie Gordon (1-16) and Lily Steindl (1-25).

In response, Kirstie Gordon scored and unbeaten from 54 balls as she shared an opening stand of 60 with Sarah Bryce (23), before seeing the homeside over the line with Kathryn Bryce (30*) in the penultimate over.

Anna Kerrison (1-31) picked up the sole wicket for Ireland.

The two sides meet again today in two T20 encounters at Loreto School in Edinburgh at 10am and 4pm.
