It is with deep regret that Cricket Ireland has learned of the death of former President Dawson Moreland at the age of 90.
Dawson was President of the Irish Cricket Union in 1970, also holding the posts of NCU Chairman in 1967 and NCU President in 1975/76.

He was a successful captain of Holywood, leading them to senior titles in 1956 and 1958 – the latter shared with Woodvale.

Immediate Past President of Cricket Ireland Murray Power said: “Dawson was one of the senior figures in the NCU when I first joined the Executive Committee in the early 1970s.

“I remember him warmly as an astute and gentlemanly President. The thoughts and prayers of all at Cricket Ireland are extended to his family circle.”

Funeral arrangements later.
