Cricket Ireland can confirm the following disciplinary decisions were made at a meeting of CI’s Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday 30th September at Bready Cricket Club.
DALE McGONIGLE (Bready 2nd) vs Carrickfergus 2nd – Ulster Plate 25th June 2017
Dale McGonigle was reported for a Level two offence of throwing the ball at or near a player, umpire or official in an appropriate and dangerous manner. The report was submitted by match umpires Vincent O’Hara and David Caldwell.
The player was unable to attend the hearing, and the Disciplinary Committee heard evidence from the two standing umpires in the match. The Disciplinary Committee agreed that the player was guilty of committing the Level two offence.
In accordance with CI’s disciplinary regulations, the Disciplinary Committee determined that the player should be suspended from the next three Ulster competition or Cricket Ireland competition matches for which he is available for selection.
CLARE SHILLINGTON (Typhoons) vs Scorchers – Super 3s 6th August 2017
Clare Shillington was reported for committing a Level 1 offence at the Super 3s match at North Kildare CC on 6th August, by standing umpires Matt Anson and Bala Kailash.
In considering the report, and noting that the player was also the coach of the team, the Disciplinary Committee determined that the player should receive a one match suspension from the next Super 3s match for which she is available for selection.
STEPHEN DUNN (Coleraine) vs Waringstown – Ulster Cup 13th August 2017
Stephen Dunn was reported for a Level two offence (2.6) of using language and/or gestures that are obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, umpire, team official or person attending. The report was submitted by match umpires Gary Blair and Jareth McCready.
In considering the matter, the Disciplinary Committee felt that a lesser, Level one offence (1.3), should apply, and noted the player’s apology to the umpires at the time and subsequently.
In accordance with CI’s disciplinary regulations, the Disciplinary Committee determined that the player should be suspended from the next Ulster competition or Cricket Ireland competition match for which he is available for selection.
