Rain sends Ireland home early from T20 World Cup


KATHMANDU, Nepal – Ireland Women’s bowling all-rounder Ava Canning has been forced to withdraw from the squad at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier after sustaining an injury while bowling against USA on Thursday.
Canning experienced a Grade 2c tendon tear while bowling and will return home for treatment and rehabilitation.
Pembroke all-rounder Louise Little will fly to Nepal today as the replacement player after the ICC approved the change.
Ireland Women are in action tomorrow morning against Bangladesh after winning their first two games of this global qualifier event.
