Irish Cricket’s Big Bike Ride has been completed with Gary Wilson and William Porterfield arriving into Belfast City Square at 4.45pm on Saturday, having conquered the marathon journey that saw them travel 380 miles in just 5 days.
Some very tired legs and bodies were worth every minute of the reception the lads received in Belfast on Day 5 of the Big Bike Ride on Saturday.

They were greeted at City Hall by the Lord Mayor of Belfast before being given a heroes welcome at the Europa Hotel for the charity dinner to round off the week in great style. The dinner was attended by guests and families of both Gary and William, as well as a who’s who of Irish cricket. Plenty of Gary and William’s international team-mates stepped out in style to show their support for the lad’s achievement.

Whilst the books will remain open for another couple of weeks as the final pledged donations come in, Gary is confident that a figure of at least £27,000 has already been raised. A hugely impressive achievement from the lads and Gary chatted to Surrey Cricket TV one last time to summarise his emotions of an amazing week.
