After Ireland’s fantastic run chase in their opening match against the West Indies, www.cricketireland.ie caught up with Matthew Mott, who is working with Ireland’s batters during the world cup.
After Ireland’s run chase in their opening World Cup match against the West Indies, www.cricketireland.ie spoke to Matthew Mott, who is working with Ireland’s batters during the world cup.
Mott was appointed as an assistant coach back in September 2014, and has since worked with the squad on their acclimatisation tour in Australia and New Zealand, as well as in the build up to the World Cup.

With a specific focus on batting, Mott is Ireland’s very own ‘Batman’ during the World Cup, and after becoming the first team to chase down 300 in the tournament, who better to speak to about the tournament so far.

Listen to the interview below to find out a little more about Matthew, how he came to be with Ireland and what the squad are getting up to between matches in Queensland.
