Andrew White will fly home from Australia after breaking a finger in the first of two practice matches against Queensland Bulls.
White, Ireland’s most capped player, was injured when he took a return catch with his first ball of the match.

After leaving the field it became apparent the injury was serious and White has since had surgery, ruling him out of the remainder of the tour.

He joins an already long list of injured players, with Paul Stirling, Max Sorensen and Tim Murtagh having not travelled at all.

The squad has now been reduced to 15 players for the remaining weeks of the tour.

After another game against Queensland Bulls, this time in Brisbane, Ireland will move on to Canberra, where they will meet the Irish Ambassador and play two practice matches against ACT.

The tour then moves to New Zealand, with four more matches, including a List A game against New Zealand XI.
