Ava Canning forced to withdraw from Ireland Women’s squad

DUBLIN – Cricket Ireland has today announced the resumption of elite men’s training sessions from Thursday 15th April after a round of COVID-19 tests were undertaken, however, a number of players will remain in isolation pending a second test, in line with HSE guidelines.
Richard Holdsworth, High Performance Director for Cricket Ireland, said:
“While one player remains in isolation recovering from COVID-19, the more pleasing news is that a number of players considered close contacts of that player have all returned negative results. However, in line with HSE guidelines, those three players will remain in isolation pending a further test expected next week. If that test confirms a negative result, the trio can then resume full training.”
“For all other players, training can resume from tomorrow in adherence to our normal COVID-19 training protocols.”
