Ireland Under 19 girls bounced back from their opening day loss to Warwickshire to record a 5-wicket win over Wales at the Malvern Festival.

Four wickets apiece for Saintfield spinner Cara Murray (4-19) and skipper Gaby Lewis (4-7) saw Wales slump from 57-1 to 118 all out.

Georgia Parfitt (36) and Ella Reed (29) were the main run scorers for the Welsh.

The Irish reply got off to a disastrous start and they were reeling at 29 for 4 before the Leinster pair of Rebecca Stokell and Ellen Ridgeway launched a fightback.

Stokell began cautiously before unleashing some powerful pulls and drives on her way to an unbeaten 58, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes as she shared stands of 44 with Ridgeway (23), and 46 with Sadbh Breslin (10*).

The Girls in Green are in action twice on Friday as they play Wales and Buckinghamshire in T20 contests.
