The Typhoons will be hoping to get their first win of the season in the 50 over competition of the Super 3s in Bready this Sunday July10th, where they will be against a Scorchers side that are looking to chase down the high flying Dragons.

When these teams last met back in May, strong middle order contributions from former Irish captain Isobel Joyce (20), as well as Kim Garth (30) gave the Scorchers the needed solidity to their innings, eventually winning by 5 wickets. Lucy O’Reilly took 4/19 for the Scorchers, to restrict the Typhoons to 116 all out, with Cath Dalton making 61 at a run-a-ball.
The Typhoons will be looking for a similar innings from Dalton, as well as for Kate McKenna to build on her innings from the previous Sunday, where she top scored with 43 in a losing effort against league leaders Dragons. On the bowling front, the Typhoons will be looking to prevent opposition partnerships developing into winning totals, by making breakthroughs throughout the Scorchers innings.

The Scorchers have not played a game in this competition for nearly two months, since the game on the 26th June in North Kildare was abandoned. However, they will be hoping that the weather will be kinder to them this weekend, so that they can challenge the Dragons in this competition. A key for both teams this weekend in Bready will be to bat out their full 50 overs, so that they give themselves a total to defend.

This will be the first Toyota Super 3s match to take place in the North West Cricket Union.

The game will be preceded by some coaching clinics with the Super 3 players, including Ireland captain Laura Delany. For more information on the clinics please contact Colin Mason at colin.mason@cricketireland.ie.
