Former President of the Northern Cricket Union and the 2006 Irish Cricket Union President, has been awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list.
The former Ireland international has spent his life as a valued and well known member of Waringstown, having started playing there as a teenager in the 1950’s.

His dedication to the club was recognised when the pavilion at The Lawn was named the Roy Harrison Pavilion in his honour.

The time he has spent at the club as a volunteer, many recent years as Chairman of the club, has helped the club grow and develop, gaining club accreditation and this season winning the Irish Senior Cup. It is for his voluntary services to cricket that he has been awarded he MBE.

All at Cricket Ireland would like to offer their congratulations to Roy for this award and offer thanks for the time he has given to the game.
