Jack Tector has earned a first Inter-Provincial call up as Hanley Energy IP50 returns this weekend following a month long break for the ICC WT20Q.
The YMCA batsman has impressed all season, not least when leading Ireland’s under 19 squad in their recent World Cup qualifying campaign, earning a first call to the Leinster Lightning squad for this weekend’s match against the Northern Knights.

Kevin O’Brien makes a welcome return to the Lightning squad after fulfilling county commitments with Leicestershire, while John Mooney, Tyrone Kane and Andrew Poynter will all be back in action after being involved in the World T20 Qualifiers for Ireland.

The Northern Knights currently sit top of the table with two wins from two, but a bonus point win for the Lightning will see them oust the Knights, who have yet to face the Lightning in the 50-over format this season.

They are waiting on the fitness of left arm spinner James Cameron-Dow as he recovers from a foot injury, and have named a squad of 13 as they await news on the CIYMS player.

Having already won the Hanley Energy IP20 in June the Lightning will be keen to stamp their authority on the 50 –over competition as they look for an unlikely clean-sweep, winning all three of the Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial formats for the first time.

The sides will meet at 10.45am on Sunday at Merrion Cricket Club on Anglesea Road, Dublin, with entry free for all spectators.
