Due-uno
Italy takes final game of series

Ireland under 19’s fell five runs short of victory over the North-West Warriors on a cold day in Strabane, where hail stopped play and reduced the game to 47 overs per side.
Two wickets a piece for Graeme McCarter, Stuart Thompson and Ryan Macbeth helped the Warriors on their way to victory, with 49 from Aaron Gillespie not enough to see the under 19’s over the line.
Earlier in the day David Rankin hit 67 from 79 balls opening the innings for the Warriors, with Thompson (43) and a quick cameo from McCarter (25) raising the score to 223-8 from the allotted 47 overs.
Rory Anders picked up three wickets for the under 19 side, with Fiachra Tucker (2-34), Tom Stanton (1-34) and Gary McClintock (1-22) also contributing.
Chasing a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern adjusted target of 225, William McClintock fell early to McCarter, but Fiachra Tucker (24) and Gillespie built a solid second wicket partnership before Macbeth came into the attack and accounted for Tucker and Adam Dennison (6) in relatively quick succession.
Under 19’s skipper Jack Tector also fell cheaply, and when Gillespie followed Tector back to the pavilion, the Warriors were well on top with the score 102-5.
Lorcan Tucker (34) and Gary McClintock (37) brought Ireland back into contention though with a 73 run partnership, but when the pair looked to push towards the target in the final few overs, Stuart Thompson took two of three wickets to fall with the score on 176.
Rory Anders (16) and Andrew Austin (19*) produced a final flurry to bring the Under 19 side agonisingly close, but it was not to be, with the Warriors winning by five runs.
Next up for the under 19 side is a friendly against Leinster Lightning on May 24th, whilst the Warriors will be in action on May 4th, when they kick off their 2015 Hanley Energy Inter-Provincial Series campaign with a 50-over tie against the Northern Knights at Stormont.
