Full Scorecard

With Scotland winning today’s match, they finished the series level with Ireland and the Netherlands on 6 points each – but Ireland had already claimed victory in the competition heading into today’s encounter by virtue of the the number of games won – an unassailable three.

Ireland’s innings never gathered any momentum and they could only manage 86-3 off their 20 overs – with only skipper Jack Tector (20), Ru Jones (11) and Rishi Chopra (10*) reaching double figures.

Dylan Budge did most of the damage with the ball for the hosts, claiming 5 wickets for 22 off his 4 overs, while Mark Watt, Hamza Tahir and Thomas Sole all picked up a wicket each.

In reply Scotland lost Chris Cash early on, and the loss of two further wickets in the 8th and 9th over did little to prevent victory, as hero with the ball Budge (34) and Will Edwards (25) saw them home with 8 balls to spare.

Next youth international for Ireland is the Under-15 European Championships which gets underway on Sunday – we’ll have live coverage of that tournament via CricHQ.
