RSA National Cup Semi-Final Line-Up: Carrickfergus, Killyclooney, Woodvale, Dundrum

The draw for the Semi-Finals will be made at the lunch break of Tuesday’s Inter-Provincial match between Leinster Lightning & North West Warriors

Irish Senior Cup holders Clontarf entertain the surprise package of this year’s competition St Johnston at Castle Avenue. Both Bill Coghlan and Andrew Poynter have been in a rich vein of form for Clontarf of late and the Donegal side will be up against it on Sunday if either of those two get going.

In the first of two all Leinster clashes, Pembroke host Merrion at Sydney Parade. The visitors have a good track record in this competition and have been finalists in three of the last four seasons. This will be the fourth meeting of the two sides in the space of eight days – Merrion just have their noses in front with and aggregate score of 2-1.

In the other all Leinster tie, Railway Union will enjoy home advantage over 2012 winners The Hills. Railway have been crowned ‘Bowl-Out Kings’, having reached the quarter-final stage without having won a match, however they will be keen to settle this round on the pitch and secure victory over the side that sits one place above them in Leinster Division One. The Hills will have Ireland opening bowler Max Sorensen firing on all cylinders for what should be an entertaining clash at Park Avenue.

The final tie is an all Northern affair as North West league champions Coleraine take on North Down at Sandel Lodge. Coleraine haven’t had things all their own way in the North West Premier League this year and currently lie 4 points adrift of league leaders Strabane; while North Down find themselves in a somewhat similar position in the NCU Premier League.

In the quarter-finals of the RSA National Cup Carrickfergus entertain Connaght side County Galway, Killyclooney host Cliftonville, Woodvale welcome Laois, and Limerick Raiders face Dundrum.
