It will be Sri Lanka at the double for Irish cricket fans this summer with the confirmation of a further three-game series against Sri Lanka A in July.

This follows the announcement that Ireland will play the senior Sri Lanka team at Clontarf in two one-day internationals on May 6 and 8.

The first of the 50-over contests against Sri Lanka A will take place at Stormont, Belfast on July 23rd and 25th, with the remaining game scheduled for Coleraine in the North-West on July 27th.

Cricket Ireland Performance Director Richard Holdsworth said: “These games will provide us with high-quality opposition and our international calendar is shaping up nicely.

“Our primary focus is of course the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year, and these games will aid coach Phil Simmons as he and the team prepare for a huge 12 months for Irish cricket.

“The team is undergoing a few changes at the moment and more games of this calibre will make that transition so much smoother.”

More details regarding tickets and match details will be announced in due course.

In the meantime, if you book now you can secure your Early Bird Tickets for the Ireland v Sri Lanka RSA Insurance ODI Series in Clontarf on the 6th and 8th of May by clicking here. This will get you a 20% discount on your tickets for the marquee matches of the summer.
