The North West Cricket Union and the Northern Cricket Union have named their squads for the 2013 Youth Inter-Provincial Series which will be held in the coming weeks.

Following the announcement, Simon Johnston, NCU U15 Head Coach, said: “I am delighted to announce this squad today and a massive congratulations must go to all the guys who have been selected. Over the winter and into spring/summer we have been able, thanks to our new partnership with UUJ, to offer the most comprehensive training programme ever for this age group.

“All 18 of the original panel can be proud of all the hard work they put in and it was a obviously a very hard decision to get the squad down to 13. On a personal level I would like to thank all 18 guys involved for their hard work and dedication over the past few months and very singe player has been a credit to the clubs and themselves. For the final 13 the real hard work is only beginning with the massive challenge of heading down to Dublin for the interpros only round the corner.”

Following the annoucement of the squad, Michael Hingston, NCU U13 Head Coach, said: “The Under 13 Interprovincial Series has always been an extremely competitive tournament and I expect this year to be no different. For many, this will be the starting point for their Interprovincial and International cricketing career and the NCU coaching team and I are looking forward to seeing how the players progress and develop against some very tough opposition from the other unions.

“Over the last few months, all the lads who have taken part in the sessions have shown tremendous drive and hunger to succeed and I hope that those selected can continue in this vein, to reap the rewards of all their hard work and effort.”
