It’s……….Leinster Lightning
After a fantastic input from the cricketing public across Leinster, involving dozens of suggestions being made, and hundreds of votes being cast on our Facebook poll, you the cricketing public have decided on the name of the Leinster team that will be competing in this year’s Cricket Ireland Interprovincial Series.

With 29.4% of the vote, Leinster Lightning was the clear winner, although it must be said that all the choices that were put forward were popular. Vikings was the second most popular name, with 24.4%, then High Kings with 18.7%, Laigins with 15% and Harps with 12.5%.

This means that all three sides now have their team names confirmed and they are as follows

North West Warriors

Northern Knights

Full details of the 2013 Interprovincial Series, including dates, venues, appointments and regulations will be announced by Cricket Ireland in the next few weeks.
