Gary Wilson and William Porterfield set off yesterday morning at 8am from Cork for a five day challenge that will see them cover 380 miles right across the country as they began the journey to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
The boys were absolutely exhausted but very satisfied with their efforts on the first day of the charity bike ride where they managed the hardest leg of the journey without any major problems. In total, they covered 94 miles from Cork to Kilkenny, before they collapsed exhausted with the prospect of 5 more days to go in the Big Bike Ride.
Gary Wilson spoke to Surrey Cricket TV at the end of the first day from his hotel in Kilkenny.
