In addition to our Cricket Leinster Coaches (Kenny Carroll, Diarmuid Lynch and Naomi Scott-Hayward) and the carers from the 4 centres to help with the event, we also had with us Aisling Dent, a participant of Sportivate South Dublin. This is a joint initiative of South Dublin CC, Dublin and Dunlaoighre Education Boards to provide practical sports training and education so as to enhance employment opportunity for participants. I huge thank you to Máirín Uí Riain, SportivateSD Programme Co-ordinator & Tutor, for organising this.

A massive thank you has to go to Debbie Doyle and her team from St. Michael’s House in Tempelogue for all their helpers and for hosting the event. A thank you to The Lord’s Taverners and South Dublin County Council for their continued support in their funding to make it possible to deliver sessions in these facilities and make cricket an accessible sport through the game of Table Cricket. Lastly, a thank you to Paula Swayne and Alison Silke from South Dublin CC who arranged the medals and plaque for the winning team and came down to support the tournament.

Well done to all 30 participants at the tournament today – an exciting and enjoyable day for everyone involved with the teams. I think I can safely say on behalf of all the participants, helps, coaches, carers and staff that were involved today, that this is certainly a day to be repeated.
