Ireland Men’s T20 World Cup squad announced

Dublin – A Gaby Lewis half-century ensured victory in a winner-took-all clash at Oak Hill ensured victory for the Scorchers, as they won the Evoke Super 20 Trophy by nine wickets over the Typhoons. It’s the third year in a row that the Scorchers have won the competition.
Earlier in the day the Typhoons got off to a quick start, and had 30 runs on the board before Robyn Searle (25) was caught chasing a ball out of her crease and was stumped by Polly Inglis.
Laura Delany and Rebecca Stokell did look to have a good partnership brewing, but Delany was caught behind just as she was settling in for a big innings, with the Typhoons struggling on 72-4.
Aimee Maguire then took three wickets in five balls, including the wicket of Rebecca Stokell (19), as the Scorchers grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck. Her left-arm spin causing all sorts of problems for the Typhoons batters. The tail followed quickly as the Typhoons were bowled out for 101.
Having been set a relatively modest target, the Scorchers opening partnership of 70 between Lewis and Mary-Anne Musonda set them on their way to victory.
When Musonda departed – after been clean-bowled by Alice Tector – it was left to Lewis and Inglis to ease the Scorchers home with 6.5 overs to spare.
