Guest writer Aaron McNicholas caught up with Lorcan Tucker who backs Ireland to hit the ground running at T20 World Cup

Ireland under 17s took on the North-West Warriors Academy today as part of their preparations for a three match tour of Scotland, with the under-agers coming out with a six wicket win thanks to four wickets from Fionn Hand and 68 from Jamie Grassi.
Bowling first on a glorious day at Burndennett the Irish side were quickly in the ascendency as Hand took his first wicket, that of Dougherty, in the first over. Ross McCay also picked up two wickets inside the first 12 overs and despite scoring at a good rate, the Warriors found themselves in trouble at 57-4.
Morgan Topping bowled well in the middle of the innings, finishing with figures of 2-10 from six overs, leaving the Warriors with plenty to do if they were to set a competitive score.
Any hopes they had of doing that were taken away when Hand returned to the Ireland attack, as the North County seamer picked up the final three wickets in the 39th over to see the Warriors bowled out for 145.
Hand and fellow opener Paddy Beverland both fell for just six in the chase, giving hope to the Warriors, but an excellent 68 from Jamie Grassi put the game beyond them and allowed McCay and Topping to finish off the match with plenty of time to spare.
Ireland under 17s will be in action against Scotland in Ayr next week, when they play two 50-over matches and one T20 as part of the ICC Europe Challenge Series.
